Abbas: If Talks Fail, Israel Can Take Over West Bank

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Tuesday that if peace talks fail, Israel will be responsible for governing, funding, and protecting the 2.5 million who live in Palestinian territories. Abbas has repeatedly hinted that he could dissolve the Palestinian Authority in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. His statement added urgency to the effort by the United States to extend negotiations set to expire next week, NBC News reported.
