Chinese Satellite Images May Show Jet Debris: Report

China's state news agency Xinhua reported Wednesday that a Chinese government website has published satellite images of what could be debris from the Malaysia Airlines plane that vanished over the weekend. That website said the high-resolution photos were taken around 11 a.m. local time on March 9 over the South China Sea, one of the key areas where investigators are searching for wreckage of the missing plane. The website doesn't confirm whether what is seen in the images actually is debris from Flight 370, though, and NBC News cannot confirm what is shown in the photos. U.S. intelligence officials couldn't, either. "U.S. officials cannot attest to the veracity of the Chinese imagery," they told NBC News. According to the Chinese report, though, the images show "three suspected floating objects," the largest of which measures about 79 by 72 feet. Click through to see another of the satellite images.
