Pilot Dies After Forced Emergency Landing

A Seattle-bound United Airlines flight with 165 people on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Boise Airport Thursday night after the pilot suffered a heart attack and later passed away, an airport spokeswoman said, according to Reuters and NBC News. The Boeing 737 landed around 10 p.m. ET. The pilot was rushed to a local hospital, where he passed away Friday morning, NBC News confirmed. "We got a call from United flight 1607 at about 7:55 p.m. Mountain Time declaring an emergency, they said the pilot had had a heart attack," Boise Airport spokesperson Patty Miller said.
