VA Secretary Shinseki “Angry” Over Hospital Deaths

Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki said an investigation will be launched after allegations that up to 40 patients died at the VA Phoenix hospital due to delays in care. "I am angry," he told NBC News Wednesday. Hospital whistleblowers have claimed that administrators ordered thousands of appointment requests be put to a secret unofficial list not to be reported, all in an effort to improve their performance record. Allegations of falsified records have also surfaced at VA hospitals in Austin, San Antonio and Fort Collins, Colorado.
