Xbox Workers in China Threaten Mass Suicide

Dozens of Chinese workers who serve on the assembly lines that make Xbox game consoles gathered on a roof and threatened to jump in a protest over their job conditions. Foxconn, which manufactures the Xbox for Microsoft, had planned to move a factory out of Wuhan and transfer workers. The workers claim the tech giant reneged on an offer of severance pay to those who did not want to be transferred. Between 80 and 200 of the workers climbed atop a six-story dormitory before city officials talked them down. Foxconn also makes electronics in China for Apple, Sony and Nintendo, and has been the target of frequent claims of worker abuse.
