One-Third of Americans at Risk of Financial Crisis: Study

Nearly a quarter of Americans have more credit card debt than emergency savings, and over a third have no emergency savings at all, according to a report from Bankrate, NBC News reported Monday. Generation Xers, many of whom are in an expensive stage of life, are the worst off: 32 percent of survey respondents aged 30 to 42 said they had more credit card debt than emergency savings. Millenials are in relatively better shape. "You are looking at a generation that had a front row seat for the financial crisis, so they have a greater tendency to save ingrained in them," a surveyor said.
