Oregon Proposes No-Smoking Rule for Coast

A proposal by Oregon's Parks and Recreation Department would ban smoking along all of Oregon’s Pacific coastline, NBC News reported. A ban on smoking exists in state parks, except in vehicles, campsites and some designated areas, and might extend to beaches as cigarette butts are a top item in its annual beach cleanups on the state's coast. Already receiving a mixed reaction, the state will begin taking comments on the proposed beach blanket ban beginning Aug. 29.
