Another ‘Painful' Arctic Blast to Hit U.S.

Americans are bracing for yet another bout of frigid weather in the wake of a deep freeze that killed 16, NBC News reported Monday. Forecasters predicted the latest "Arctic blast" will send temperatures plunging, dumping as much as three feet of snow from Cleveland to Buffalo and creating icy weather from Texas to the Northeast. "It's going to be painful," said The Weather Channel's lead meteorologist. "You're talking 24 to 36 inches coming down at a rate of up to five or six inches an hour — that's what we mean when we say 'intense.'"
