PetSmart Joins Petco, Pulls All Chinese Jerky From Stores

PetSmart is removing all Chinese jerky treats from its 1,300 stores in the U.S. and Canada after the FDA announced the treats may be linked to more than 1,000 dog deaths, NBC News reported. In a statement, a spokesperson for PetSmart said the company will phase out dog and cat treats manufactured in China by March 2015. The decision comes a day after the pet retailer's rival Petco announced that it would have all Chinese jerky treats off shelves by the end of this year.
