‘I Love Everybody. This Is Awesome': Watch Shaun White Watch Fans React to His Gold Medal Halfpipe Run

On social media, White's fans went wild after his golden run

Shaun White captured gold in the men's halfpipe in Pyeongchang, 12 years and two days after he won his first gold medal in the event.

With the win, White is now the first snowboarder to ever become a three-time Olympic champion. To add to the accomplishment, it was the United States' 100th all-time gold medal at the Winter Olympics.

He reclaimed his title by landing back-to-back 1440s in his final run.

On social media, White's fans went wild after his golden run. White said it was a "rollercoaster of emotions" when he had a chance to sit down and watch some of his fans' videos, which had him laughing, crying and "feeling the love." In the video below, watch White's reactions in real time.

“See, this is what makes it all worthwhile," he said. "All these people believe in me, support me, and it really helps me believe I can do it. It’s so wild."

In the immediate aftermath of his historic performance, White also received negative attention when he referred to sexual misconduct allegations against him in a 2016 lawsuit with a former bandmate as "gossip." He apologized for the comments in a follow-up interview on "Today," saying "it was a poor choice of words to describe such a sensitive subject in the world today."
