This Is What USA's Olympic Athletes Will Wear on the Podium at Pyeongchang

Temperatures are expected to be below freezing for the medal ceremonies, held outdoors in every sport except for ice hockey

The Pyeongchang Olympic Games are less than a month away, and American athletes are getting ready to go for the gold.

And when they land on the top of the podium, they'll be wearing intensely warm gear that was unveiled Tuesday by Nike and the U.S. Olympic Committee on the "Today" show.

Temperatures are expected to be below freezing for the medal ceremonies, held outdoors in every sport except for ice hockey, according to a news release. Hence jackets with removable layers and knit handwarmers attached the sleeves and boots with lace-free closure systems and, for women, reflective material to add warmth.

The Olympics begin Feb. 8, but the first shot at seeing Nike’s 2018 Team USA Medal Stand Collection outfits in the setting they were meant for — on the medal stand itself — is Feb. 10, at the end of the women's cross-country skiathlon.
