Trump Ditches GOP, may run Independent

Donald Trump’s special consul Michael Cohen told NBC news Friday that Trump had ruled out a presidential run with a Republican affiliation. However, Cohen confirmed Trump hadn’t ruled out an independent run if the GOP failed to elect a candidate that could defeat President Barack Obama. Trump would use his vast wealth to level the campaign field between himself and Obama’s already financially successful re-election campaign, Cohen said. He added that Trump’s commitment to hosting the reality show “The Apprentice” will keep him from making any concrete decisions until May 2012, when the current season of the program comes to an end.
