U.S. Women Shut Out Colombia, Advance to Soccer Quarterfinals

The U.S. women's soccer team defeated Colombia 3-0 on Saturday, continuing the team's march toward a third consecutive Olympics gold medal. Megan Rapinoe put the first goal on the scoreboard for Team USA after 33 minutes. Americans Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd followed Rapinoe's lead, adding two goals during the second half to shut out the Colombian team. Maria Usme had the sole shot on goal for Colombia, which was saved by U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo. Team USA's next match-up will be against North Korea in the quarterfinals on July 31.
