Disastrous winter weather slammed New England on Sunday, dumping more than a foot of snow on Massachusetts and leaving thousands without power in Cape Cod. Areas in Massachusetts reported nearly 15 inches of snow while 2,800 customers were without electricity Sunday evening, according to NBC affiliate WHDH in Boston. The storm is the latest wave of severe winter weather that has pounded America. This month ranks as the third snowiest February on record for New York. Much of the Chicago area was under a winter weather advisory for Monday, with snowfall expected to snarl morning commutes.
