Wade Meets With Bulls Again About Running with LeBron

NO! NOOOOOoooooOOOOOOOOOOO!

Free agency: it's finally here. And now all Pat Riley has to do is convince LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade to become the first three-man NBA team. Or something like that.

To everyone's surprise, the one seemingly sure bet may need juuuust a bit more convincing. Our very own Dwyane Wade has agreed to a second meeting with his hometown Chicago Bulls tonight, and he's made sure to bring his agent. GULP! COVER YOUR EARS, FLASH!

Fortunately, it's not necessarily Apocalyptic news for Heat fans. Sources told Ira Winderman the Bulls requested it and suggest Wade merely obliged, something that Michael Wallace's local sources confirmed -- but it proves that Wade is taking free agency pretty seriously. Miami can offer more money and hope that when it comes down to actually signing a contract, Wade chooses Florida's lack of income tax over, say, proximity to his own children and the fulfillment of all his childhood dreams.

In related news, someone hold us. A few minutes ago, Wade himself tweeted this: "Imma start a website called What little do they know.com [laughing to myself]." That would sound somewhat reassuring, but we've lost all perspective and the room is beginning to spin.

Over in Ohio, Riley concluded his presentation to LeBron James after three hours and assists from Heat owner Mickey Arison, coach Erik Spoelstra, and human Swiss Army knife Alonzo Mourning. A smiling Riley himself said the meeting was "very relaxed. We all know [LeBron]. There was genuine respect."

So it didn't go terribly, which is nice, because according to the AP, LeBron showed up dressed for success recess:

The Heat's delegation arrived at 10:20 a.m. James showed up two minutes before the scheduled 11 a.m. meeting wearing a T-shirt, shorts and a backpack.

Well, at least he felt comfortable. And at least Pat Riley might still get some help from D-Wade in the recruiting process. The hopefully-temporary-ex-Heat player had dinner with Bosh in Chicago last night, and according to Bosh's Twitter account, the pair just might have discussed a day spent meeting with suitors from across the league.

Just had dinner w @dwadeofficial. Great way to end day 1 of free agency although it feels like someone is missing......

Let it never be said Bosh isn't a tease. Earlier, after meeting with Riley & Co., Bosh noted that "Pat Riley is very passionate about winning."

Also hair gel, but that's beside the point. In the first minutes of free agency, Wade received two offers from the Heat -- one for the maximum $125 million over six years, and another for slightly less money overall and a first year's salary of $13 to $15 million shared with two other max free agents.

He's also getting a plea from Jungle Island. The park is jumping on the We Want Wade bandwagon by naming their newly arrived Dromedary camel "Flash." Locals purchasing a ticket on Monday, "Wear Wade Gear Day," get a free 5x7 photo of themselves with the humpy version of MV3.

And we thought Beards for LeBron was nuts.

But speaking of James, Cleveland.com reported that his agent Leon Rose met with Riley for 45 minutes last night "near the far-right corner of the Cleveland  Ritz-Carlton lounge." Gotta love Riley getting a headsta --- wait, Cleveland has a Ritz-Carlton? Should Team Riles actually snag the King, Heat fans might wanna note the booth's location as a future house of worship -- and its plain existence as an middle-American miracle.

Also a middle-American miracle: the Bulls are reportedly threatening to pull their offer to James if he doesn't decide shortly where he'll sign next. You know, because the current Chicago regime can totally afford to piss off one of the world's two best basketball players. But it's this possible partnership in his hometown that sources say has Wade intrigued, so here's hoping James doesn't like being pressured.

Despite all the activity, don't expect any three-foot signatures quite yet: verbal contracts can be announced, but no nothing league-rocking deals or otherwise can be finalized until July 8.
