Chris Bosh is enjoying his best season since joining the Heat in 2010, and he has been rewarded by making his eighth straight Eastern Conference All-Star squad.
The NBA announced All-Star reserves Thursday, and Bosh was one of seven Eastern Conference backups. Joining him were Tyson Chandler of New York, Joakim Noah and Luol Deng of Chicago, Paul George of Indiana, Kyrie Irving of Cleveland, and Jrue Holiday of Philadelphia.
"Honored & humbled to selected as an All-Star again," Bosh tweeted on Thursday. "Living out my dream everyday is truly a blessing."
Bosh has started one All-Star game, this will be his seventh as a reserve. He is having his best season as a Heat, even though he is averaging half a rebound less per game than he did in 2010-11.
Bosh's player efficiency rating (an advanced statistic approximating a player's overall value) is 21.0, up from 18.9 a season ago. The Heat outscore opponents by 12 points every 100 possessions when Bosh is on the court, tying his career best (set in 2007-08 in Toronto and again in 2010-11 with Miami).
With Bosh in Houston will be Heat teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, who won starting lineup nods through fan voting announced last week. The Heat are the only team with three All-Star representatives (seven other teams sent two players to the All-Star game).
In the Western Conference, LaMarcus Aldrige of Portland, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker of San Antonio, James Harden of Houston, David Lee of Golden State, Zach Randolph of Memphis, and Russell Westbrook of Oklahoma City were named reserves.

The 30 NBA head coaches voted for reserves, selecting seven players each. Coaches could not vote for players on their own team, and had to select two guards, three frontcourt players, and two players regardless of position.
The All-Star Game will be held at the Toyota Center in Houston on Sunday, Feb. 17.
