Brandon to Become a Blue Knight

Brandon Knight chooses Kentucky

Brandon Knight is leaving the sandy beaches of South Florida for the bluegrass of Kentucky.

The high school basketball phenom ended the nation's wait on Wednesday when he chose the Kentucky Wildcats over a plethora of college basketball powerhouses to play for next season.

The Pine Crest superstar was a two-time Gatorade National Player of the Year and follows stud point guards Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evens and now John Wall to play for coach John Calipari.

The announcement was aired live on ESPNU.

Wall, who starred for Kentucky after his freshman year is jumping to the NBA and is expected to be the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft.

The 6-foot-4 point guard averaged 31.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists this season while leading his team to the state Final Four. He was coveted by UConn, Kansas and Syracuse for more than his skills with the ball.

Knight was also a tenacious defender with long arms, quickness and the strength to guard multiple positions.
