Call Wade All-NBA

It's not the MVP or a playoff series win, but Wade's first All-NBA selection is a decent consolation prize

Dwyane Wade earns first team All NBA honors.

Dwyane Wade has widely been considered one of the best players in the NBA. Now it's official.

Wade joined his good buddy LeBron James, along with Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard and Dirk Nowitzki as All-NBA first team selections on Wednesday.

Here are the rest of the All-NBA-ers announced today:

The All-NBA second team consisted of New Orleans guard Chris Paul, Brandon Roy of the Trail Blazers, Tim Duncan of the Spurs, Paul Pierce of the Celtics and Houston center Yao Ming.

The third team has Denver's Chauncey Billups and San Antonio's Tony Parker at guard, Denver's Carmelo Anthony and the Lakers' Pau Gasol at forward, and Shaquille O'Neal of the Suns at center.

Wade led the league in scoring at over 30 points per game and was only the fifth player in NBA history to reach 2,000 points, 500 assists, and 150 steals in a single season.

Sure, the taste of a bitter playoff defeat to the Atlanta Hawks probably trumps the taste of post season individual awards.

But consolation prizes never hurt anybody. Let's just hope Wade doesn't hurt himself handling the new hardware.
