Dolphins Game Preview: Week Five vs. Bengals

The Miami Dolphins will look to return the win column when they visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

The Dolphins began the season with a 3-0 record but were easily beaten in New England a week ago. Miami had trouble on both ends of the ball against the New England Patriots and was outclassed from the start. The Dolphins will face another tough test in this game, as the Bengals have also opened the season at 3-1.

Ryan Tannehill was a big reason for Miami's three wins this year, but the quarterback had a day to forget in New England. Tannehill compiled only 100 yards in the air and was picked off once. Miami's lone touchdown came with the game already out of reach.

The Bengals and Dolphins are relatively equal and this game will likely be a close one. With the final score possibly coming down to just a few points, Miami could need a big day from kicker Jason Sanders. The rookie has converted both of his field goal tries this season and is 10-11 on extra points. Sanders has not been tested from long range as of yet, but he has a big leg if needed.

Miami's defense had a difficult time against Tom Brady and the Patriots, after beginning the season as one of the league's better units. The defense has another tough assignment in this game, as the Bengals have tallied plenty of points each week. Quarterback Andy Dalton and his offense have been clicking on all cylinders in the early portion of the schedule.

Bobby McCain and A.J. Derby are out for this game with injuries, while Reshad Jones, Brandon Bolden, DeVante Parker, T.J. McDonald and Stephone Anthony are all listed as questionable. Miami has already dealt with a number of injuries this season and the team's lack of depth is becoming more apparent. The Dolphins are working with a depleted offensive line, which has made things tougher on Tannehill and the running backs.

The Dolphins will host the Chicago Bears in next week's game, which makes a win in this one even more important. Chicago has opened the year strong and the Dolphins could be facing a possible 3-3 record with a loss in Cincinnati.
