Dolphins' Odrick Breaks Leg at Practice

Rookie defensive lineman Jared Odrick will probably be placed on injured reserve

Dolphins rookie defensive lineman Jared Odrick broke his leg at practice on Wednesday, and will likely miss the rest of the season.

Sigh. It's a tough blow for the Dolphins, who saw their first-round pick earn a starting job off the bat and then exit game one against the Bills with a hairline fracture in his fibula.

Odrick only returned from the fracture to practice last week, and will likely be placed on injured reserve. It's not yet known which leg is broken, but Odrick has already broken his right leg twice.

If it's the same one, that can only mean one thing: time to turn him bionic.

Odrick's previous injury forced teammate Randy Starks to move back to defensive end from nose tackle. That will likely remain the case, with Paul Soliai playing nose and Tony McDaniel asked to step up and fill in at end.

The leg is the latest in a series of bummers for the Dolphins' 2010 draft class. Linebacker A.J. Edds' season was over before it began when he tore an ACL in just the second practice, Reshad Jones is inactive, and Chris McCoy and Austin Spitler were cut. That leaves just three from the class -- Koa Misi, Nolan Carroll, and John Jerry -- still in the mix.
