Dolphins Score 19 Unanswered Points in Win

Trailing by six in the second half, Miami turned the game around and scored the final 19 points

The Miami Dolphins picked up a big 22-9 win over the Buffalo Bills on Thursday at Sun Life Stadium.

The Dolphins were down by six points in the third quarter after a lackluster first half. Ryan Tannehill would then lead the Miami on an 80-yard drive that culminated in a touchdown. A short while later, Miami would add two points on a safety via an intentional grounding call which was enforced in the end zone.

Miami added another TD in the fourth quarter when Tannehill connected with Jarvis Landry on an 8-yard pass. After the Bills turned the ball over on downs late in the fourth, the Dolphins padded the lead with a field goal. The score put Miami ahead by 13 and completed what was a run of 19 unanswered points for the Dolphins.

The win improves Miami to 6-4 on the season and puts it one game ahead of Buffalo. The victory also is important in terms of a tiebreaker which the Bills held coming into the game. Now with the two teams splitting their season series, it is possible that Miami will end up winning the tiebreaker if necessary.

The Dolphins lost two fumbles but Tannehill did not throw an interception. Overall the Bills won the turnover battle 2-0. They did the same in the second week of the season but with a much different result as Miami lost that contest.

The loss of Branden Albert was noticeable as Tannehill was sacked five times for a total of 35 yards. Albert will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn MCL and ACL in his right knee. In addition to the loss of Albert on the line, Buffalo also leads the NFL in sacks.

On the day Tannehill was 26-34 for 240 yards. He threw two touchdown passes with the first of the day going into the hands of Brandon Gibson. It was Gibson's first TD reception of the year. Landry who caught the aforementioned other TD in the game now has three such receptions this season.

Lamar Miller rushed for 86 yards on 15 carries which included one rush that was good for 33 yards itself. Tannehill also ran it three times for 17 yards and matched Miller's average on the day at 5.7 yards per carry.

The season will resume for the Dolphins on November 23rd when they travel to Denver for what should be a tough game against the Broncos.
