Dolphins Trade Camarillo to Vikings

Dolphins could receive cornerback in the deal

The Miami Dolphins must be expecting Brandon Marshall to catch every pass thrown by Chad Henne this season.

Reports say the Phins have traded Greg Camarillo, arguably the second best receiver on the team, to the Minnesota Vikings, MSNBC is reporting.

It's unclear what the Dolphins will receive in return, but ProFootballTalk.com is reporting the Vikings are giving up cornerback Benny Sapp.

"Very surprised," Camarillo texted a reporter after getting the news.

He'll get a chance to face his new old team in Week 2 when Miami travels to Minnesota.

Camarillo was arguably the Dolphins most consistent wide receiver last season with 50 catches for 552 yards, and the addition of Marshall in the offseason was supposed to free things up for he and the rest of the wide receiver corp.

But the emergence of Brian Hartline pushed Camarillo down the depth chart with Davone Bess ruling the slot position.

Camarillo will forever be remembered for salvaging the Dolphins season in 2007 and saving the team the embarrassment of becoming the first NFL team to lose all 16 games with his overtime 64-yard touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens. It was the team's lone victory.

Thanks for the memories, Greg.
