Favre Not Interested in Joining Dolphins

Our brief, local nightmare is over

That was quick.

Brett Favre shot down any notion that he could unretire for the hundredth time to join the Miami Dolphins.

"I haven't heard anything, and I don't have any interest" in playing for the Dolphins, Favre tersely told the Miami Herald on Friday.

He was less amused than even the Favre-sick public was about the thought that he could bring his talents to Sun Life Stadium.

"Don't you have anything better to do?" he snapped to the Herald reporter who tracked him down in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

That shows exactly how absurd the whole Favre-to-the-Dolphins faux controversy is. Even Favre, a man who has rarely shied away from media attention, finds the idea frivolous.

Not that Favre is in tip-top playing condition, anyway. The Herald reported that he seemed to struggle to even get around. He "is not in NFL shape," in the words of the Herald. "He doesn’t appear urgent to get there, either."

So that should kill the Favre story for now, though if we have learned anything from him over the past few years, it is that the story almost always has a twist waiting around the corner.
