Heat Manhandled in Nation's Capital

The Heat had a tough night in Washington D.C. on Monday in their 107-86 loss to the Wizards

The Washington Wizards had no trouble wiping the floor with the Miami Heat on Monday in their 107-86 victory.

The loss dropped Miami to 9-8 on the season as it continues to struggle to get back to three games over the .500 mark. The last time that the Heat were three games over the mark was when they started the season 3-0. This was only the third road loss in eight tries for a Heat team that has played better outside of Miami.

Free throws were a big problem for the Heat in this one as they missed 12 of their 30 attempts from the charity stripe. At one point, Miami missed five straight free throws and those lapses allowed Washington to build on its lead.

Miami also did a poor job of moving the ball around with a team total of 12 assists. In contrast, John Wall on the other end had 13 assists himself. The Wizards had 29 assists as a team and did a great job of finding the open man all night long.

The Heat were abysmal when it came to their three-point tries on Monday. As a team, they were only 2-22 on treys. That was in stark contrast to the Wizards who shot 52.6% on their three-point attempts.

In his second game following an injury, Dwyane Wade did all he could to help but it wasn't enough. Wade had 20 points and three rebounds in 28 minutes. The guard picked up a steal and turned the ball over twice.

Chris Bosh was his usual self with 21 points and eight boards in 33 minutes. The big man did not much help however as the other starters besides Wade combined for only 18 points.

Miami will head home for a game with the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday as it tries to bounce back from this loss.
