They're still not taking that whole freedom of choice thing well in Cleveland

In fact, it got a bit heated for a fan wearing LeBron James' new Miami jersey to last night's Indians-Yankees game in Cleveland: once the meshy manifestation of Ohio's worst nightmare was spotted sitting in the stands, the situation became so ugly the man was actually removed from the ballpark.

Perhaps police feared Clevelanders would set the jersey on fire out of habit.

A fan wearing a Miami Heat jersey of LeBron James drew the ire of the crowd at a Cleveland Indians game and was escorted out of the ballpark.

Fans in the left-field bleachers chanted obscenities and pointed at the man Wednesday night during the sixth inning of the Indians' 8-0 loss to the New York Yankees.

Hundreds of fans joined in before security led the man out of Progressive Field.

As he left, some fans followed him toward the gate with more derisive chants.

This is really shocking. There were people at an Indians game?

Oh, right. No wonder they turned on a poor innocent man boldly wearing the jersey of the city's most notorious traitor: it can't get more self-loathing than attending an Indians game to watch a Yankee go for homer no. 600.

Blog buddy Cleveland Frowns was present for the hubbub, and reports the  Progressive Field exile was born in Florida but moved to Sandusky when he was 11. We applaud this heroic gentleman for proudly keeping the flame flickering in hostile territory, but you know, sporting a LeBron James jersey around Cleveland might not be the best move. If the sports fans of Ohio are attending Indians games, it's because they have so little left up there, and we should probably let them have have their terrible baseball in peace.

After all, we have our own terrible baseball. And LeBron James. [Hee!]
