Remember last week when you heard that the New York Knicks announced they were hiring FIU basketball coach Isiah Thomas to "consult" and felt that last drop of faith in humanity drop into the gutter?

Well, nevermind!

Thomas, whom the team fired as coach and president two years ago and cost them $11 million thanks to a sexual harassment lawsuit, said in a statement released Wednesday night that, after speaking with NBA Commissioner David Stern, the job would violate "certain NBA bylaws."

Oh well.

FIU basketball starts next month, so, um, get excited.
