It's Show Time

The new-look Heat are on the court against the Detroit Pistons

The era of the Three Kings has begun.

in just a few moments the Miami Heat will tip off, unveiling their revamped roster full of stars and egos and giving a one-finger salute to all the haters who have taken shots at them this summer.

Sorry, Detroit. It's not you. It's them.

The Pistons will be the first sacrificial lamb to be slaughtered by Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and while preseason means nothing, this game will have a playoff atmosphere - well at least as much as any other preseason game in NBA history.

The AmericanAirlines Arena is filled to capacity during a time when usually the Heat couldn't give away tickets and get more than 40 people into a preseason game.

It's as if Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Jay-Z all decided to have a free benefit concert to help Clevelanders get over their heart break.

Tonight, LeBron starts checking off names on his hit list. Bosh's Pit makes its South Beach debut. And D-Wade continues to be D-Wade.

It's just one game that doesn't count, but it feels like the beginning of something special. You know, like velvet rope at an overpriced SoBe bar kind of special. You know it's superficial, but you can't help but try to get in the VIP line, even if it means skipping out on rent or a few meals the next week.

The most hated over-hyped and over-analyzed team in professional sports history is about to get on the court.
