Jordan Spieth Buys Pizza, Beer for Media After Hole-In-One

Jordan Spieth has had quite a year so far on the PGA Tour, but his success came at a price on Friday as he made his second career hole-in-one.

The ace, which took place on the 186-yard second hole at Conway Farms Golf Club, gave Spieth a boost, but it also cost him some money as he footed the bill for pizza and beer for media members at the course:

Buying a round of drinks is a traditional gesture for a golfter who scores a hole-in-one during a round, but Spieth certainly has taken things to a new level here.

Spieth, who won the Masters and the U.S. Open earlier this year, is trying to climb back into contention for the FedEx Cup championship, and he’s well on his way thanks to a five-under par 66 to climb within seven shots of leader Jason Day, who was playing in his group when he knocked in the hole-in-one.

Spieth’s other playing partner was Rickie Fowler, who won the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Fowler also has experience in buttering up media members with alcohol, as he provided champagne to reporters after winning the tournament.
