Koehler Brilliant in Marlins Win Over Giants

Tom Koehler gave the Marlins seven shutout innings in their 2-0 win on Tuesday

The Miami Marlins rebounded from a tough loss with a 2-0 win over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

A day after losing in 14 innings, Miami received a stellar outing from Tom Koehler. The bullpen then picked up the slack and finished off the win with two solid innings. The Marlins saw their bullpen blow two leads in Monday's game and take a win away from Jose Fernandez.

Koehler lasted seven innings and allowed only two hits while striking out six. The right-hander now has a 3.83 E.R.A to go along with a 9-8 record.

Fernando Rodney worked the ninth inning with a scoreless inning to give him his second save with the Marlins in two chances. With A.J. Ramos on the disabled list, Rodney will be given most of the save chances for the foreseeable future.

Miami scored early and it ended up being enough to win. The Marlins plated two runs in the bottom half of the first inning and never looked back. Miami only managed a total of four hits and was 1-9 with runners in scoring position. A total of seven men were left on base by the Marlins.

David Phelps will be given the ball for Wednesday's start which will finish off the series with the Giants.
