Make Believe Muscle: Durant Rips Bosh for Being a Fake Bully

Durant calls out Bosh for being a fake tough guy

In the annals of the Miami Heat franchise, there have been many enforcers.

Anthony Mason. P.J. Brown. Even Alonzo Mourning was willing to mix it up.

NBA star Kevin Durant thinks Chris Bosh wants to be added to the list.

The Oklahoma City Thunder scoring machine got into with Bosh during Sunday's 108-103 Heat victory, but it was his comments afterward that have us thinking a rivalry is brewing.

"There's a lot of fake tough guys in this league and he's one of them," Durant said about the first quarter skirmish where he and Bosh went back and forth.

Truth be told, no one in his right mind would want to see a Durant-Bosh showdown. It would be like watching to stick figures duke it out on a chalkboard.

As Jay-Z once rapped, neither one of those dudes would bust a grape in a fruit fight.

But Bosh has been very vocal this year, especially about the rough play some teams have tried to install when they face the Big Three.

At 6'10 and a generous 235 pounds, Bosh is built more like a light pole than a battering ram. Durant is 6'9 and 230 soaking wet with a few weights strapped around his ankles so he's no body builder, either.

But to the victor goes the trash-talking spoils, and Bosh is now on a tam that can back up his big talk. That's a fact not lost on Durant and the rest of the league.

"He's on a good team now, so he thinks he can talk a little bit," Durant said. "He's not one of those [tough] guys, so I'm not going to let that type of person say something to me like that."

The teams play one more time in March at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Maybe Bosh and Durant can get it on as the undercard in a pillow fight.
