The Miami Marlins came back from four runs down to beat the San Diego Padres 7-6 on Friday.

Chris Johnson brought home the game-winning run with a long double to right field in the bottom of the ninth inning. That run followed on a big rally just an inning earlier.

Trailing by three in the bottom of the eighth, the Marlins scored three runs. The big hit came courtesy of Martin Prado with a two-run single. Christian Yelich followed next with a run-scoring single of his own. Both hits came with two outs in the inning.

David Phelps was cruising until the fourth inning and then everything changed. Phelps ended up only going 3.2 innings in which he allowed four runs on two hits and three walks. Only three of the runs were earned and all four came in that aforementioned fourth inning.

When the fourth started, the Marlins held a two-run lead. The Padres would add on two more runs in the next two innings off Miami's pen as well. That 6-2 score would hold until Miami's big eighth inning.

Before Miami's big rally, the offense was mostly quiet. There were several singles and two doubles. Marcell Ozuna doubled for the 22nd time while J.T. Realmuto added his 25th two-base hit of the year. The Marlins stranded plenty of runners and struggled with runners in scoring position until the eighth.

Jose Urena will make the start for Miami on Saturday as it looks to take the first two of the series with San Diego.
