Marlins Give Fans Chance To Dump Ice on Stanton

In support of the ALS Recovery Fund, one lucky winner will dump a bucket of ice on Giancarlo Stanton

The Miami Marlins have stepped up to the plate in the name of charity and are giving fans a once in a ifetime opportunity.

Giancarlo Stanton will have a bucket of ice dumped on him by the fan who wins an auction presented by the Marlins. Along with that moment, the fan will win a photo opportunity with Stanton, four passes to batting practice, and four Diamond Club tickets to a future home game.

This is all to benefit the ALS Recovery Fund in the Ice Bucket Challenge. Those participating in the challenge have to either donate to charity or have a bucket of ice dumped on top of them. As part of it, the participant challenges another person to keep the line moving. That next person then has 24 hours to complete the challenge.

During Tuesday's game telecast, video footage was shown of Marlins closer Steve Cishek having ice thrown on top of him. In addition, several members of the Marlins broadcast team were showered with ice following the game.

The Marlin Wives also participated in the challenge on Tuesday and a clip of the moment was shared by the team.

The Marlins aren't the only ones taking part in this challenge around South Florida sports. The Florida Panthers' mascot, Stanley C. Panther also was doused with ice. The mascot challenged Heat mascot Burnie at the same time.
