The Miami Marlins scored four times in the 10th to beat the Washington Nationals 8-5 on Wednesday.
In the 10th, manager Mike Redmond elected to have Derek Dietrich bunt the runners over to second and third which set up an intentional walk to Giancarlo Stanton. Casey McGehee followed with a hit to bring home one. Next, Reed Johnson had a two-run double to pad the lead. Donovan Solano would follow with a run batted in of his own as a pinch-hitter.
Henderson Alvarez was pitching great until being lifted due to right elbow stiffness after five innings. The right-hander allowed no runs on five hits while striking out a pair. The Marlins stated that taking Alvarez out was a precautionary move.
Chris Hatcher took over in the sixth and struggled allowing three runs on three hits while only retiring two batters. Dan Jennings was brought in and walked a hitter to load the bases before retiring the next to end the inning.
A.J. Ramos worked the seventh and gave up a game tying home run to Wilson Ramos. The set-uo man would complete the inning with the game still tied. In the eighth, Mike Dunn took the mound and struggled at first. The left-hander loaded the bases with nobody out but was able to battle out of it and keep the game tied.
Kevin Slowey came in for the ninth inning trying to send the game to extra innings. While he wasn't dominant, the veteran did enough to keep the game tied. In the bottom of the tenth, Steve Cishek took over in a non-save situation and gave up a run on two hits.
Miami scored four runs in the fourth inning. Garrett Jones (26), Marcell Ozuna (32), and Adeiny Hechavarria (12) each picked up a run batted in. Christian Yelich doubled for the eighth time this season. Stanton who has enjoyed excellent career success at Nationals Park reached base three times which included a pair of walks.

The Marlins are off on Thursday before starting a series against Atlanta on Friday. The scheduled starter is Tom Koehler.
