A "fatigued" A-Rod manages a walk

With livelier action in the stands of Landshark Stadium, the Marlins beat the Yankees 2-1 in a pitcher's duel won by right-hander Josh Johnson.

Johnson pitched seven innings, striking out five and suppressing the Yankees to only three hits as he beat former Marlin A.J. Burnett.

More than 46,000 fans attended the game, the third largest crowd in Marlins' history during the regular season, a huge bulk screaming for the Yankees,

Johnson is now 7-1 for the season and has gone at least seven innings in his last sixth starts.

Dan Uggla homered and Hanley Ramirez scored from first on a misplayed ball by Johnny Damon hit field by Jorge Cantu. The play was ruled an error.

Meanwhile, Alex Rodriguez, who did not start the past two games in Miami because of "fatigue", went up to pinch-hit in the eighth inning, managing a walk which put two men on base. However, Derek Jeter grounded into a double-play to end the rally.
