The Kansas City Royals ended a three-game winning streak for the Miami Marlins with a 1-0 win on Tuesday.

The World Series champion Royals were playing their first game ever at Marlins Park. Miami was trying to stay hot after a three-game sweep in Pittsburgh. Kansas City is currently the hottest team in baseball with nine straight wins following this victory..

Andrew Cashner had his best start as a Marlin thus far with six solid innings. Cashner allowed a run on four hits while striking out four. The run allowed by the right-hander came in his last inning of work. Cashner fell to 4-10 on the season to go along with a 4.73 E.R.A.

Kyle Barraclough did a tremendous job out of the bullpen for the Marlins. With his 1.2 hitless innings, Barraclough kept Miami in the game. The Marlins were unable to mount a comeback however against Kansas City's bullpen.

Before exiting in the eighth inning due to a family emergency, Marcell Ozuna doubled. It was the 21st double of the season for Ozuna and his status for Miami's next game is not known as of yet.

The Marlins had their chances, but could not get the job done. Miami was 0-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.

Jose Fernandez will start Wednesday's game against Kansas City.
