Casey McGehee has come though time and time again in 2014 and he did it once more in the Miami Marlins 3-2 win on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will be happy to leave Miami despite coming away with two of three as the Marlins fought them to the end every game. The win on Sunday avoided a sweep for Miami and kept it right in the thick of playoff contention.

The moniker all year has been #HitsMcGehee, and today, that rang true still. In the 8th inning, McGehee doubled in a pair to tie the game off of Tony Watson, who had a scoreless streak of 22.1 innings.

Then in the tenth inning with runners on second and third, McGehee brought home the winner on a sacrifice fly. Giancarlo Stanton had been intentionally walked in front of him once again. The third baseman now has 43 RBI on the year.

Rafael Furcal had two hits including one in the tenth to begin the winning rally. Furcal was forced to exit for a pinch-runner due to fouling a ball off his knee. The veteran stayed in to pick up the hit and then was replaced at first by Ed Lucas.

Henderson Alvarez came away with a no-decision but pitched very well in this one. Alvarez went seven innings and allowed two runs on seven hits. Alvarez struck out six and has a 2.56 on the season.

A.J. Ramos worked out of a bases loaded, nobody out situation in the tenth and went on to get the win to move to 4-0 on the year.

The Marlins will take on the Chicago Cubs on Monday with Tom Koehler set to make the start.
