Miami Heat Donate for Big Brothers Big Sisters Fitness Center

The Miami Heat is teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami to help get kids excited about getting in shape.

The Heat Charitable Fund donated $350,000 to the organization to create a fitness room.

On Tuesday, the Heat hosted the Big Brothers Big Sisters at the AmericanAirlines Arena, where kids had fun working out with the Heat’s Mario Chalmers and Hassan Whiteside.

While they were working out, Heat and Big Brothers Big Sisters executives were celebrating plans for the future Miami Heat Big Fitness Room.

Renderings were released of what the center will look like and it's exactly like the training rooms the Heat players use.

"I'm very excited, I mean, I can’t even explain how excited I am," said Kezia Clarke.

"We really believe in educating our kids and teaching them healthy lifestyle and eating as well as fitness and we teach if you have a healthy body you’ll have a very healthy mind," said Lydia Muniz, with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The new fitness center will be built at the Big Brothers Big Sisters headquarters and is set to open during the spring of next year.
