McKayla Maroney sparked an Internet meme with this expression.

American gymnast McKayla Maroney's seemingly sourpuss expression as she was awarded a silver medal for vault has become the newest fodder for Photoshopping bloggers who know a good meme when they see it.

Maroney's crossed arms, puckered lips, and dull-eyed expression have inspired the Tumblr blog sensation "McKayla Is Not Impressed," which has put the Olympian and her Gloomy Gus expression smack dab in the middle of some of history's most lauded feats:

McKayla in the Sistine Chapel? Not impressed.

McKayla at the moon landing? Not impressed.

McKayla at the Wright Brothers' first flight? You guessed it - not impressed.

The 17-year-old California girl explained her now-famous mien to "Today's" Savannah Guthrie Thursday morning.

"It wasn't the silver that I was disappointed about," she said. "I was just disappointed in what happened and how I performed. I really wanted to be able to hit both my vaults but I ended up falling on my second one," the 2011 world vault champion said. "I was just disappointed with myself, not the silver medal. It's amazing to even be here and be on this team and compete for [the] USA."

Maroney's Photoshop treatment is the latest Olympic-themed meme to take off since London Mayor Boris Johnson's zipline fail

In the meantime, Maroney has found found a few things to be impressed about since her silver medal win. She and her teammates told "Today" that they met Princess Kate and talked fashion.
