Ray Allen Leaning Towards Returning: Report

Veteran free agent guard Ray Allen is leaning toward returning for his 19th NBA season, according to a new report from ESPN.com.

Allen spent the last two years with the Miami Heat and won a championship with the team last year. His Game 6 shot in the 2013 NBA Finals for the Heat will be one etched into the memory of NBA fans everywhere.

According to ESPN, Allen wants to keep playing alongside LeBron James. That could be in Miami, or elsewhere, after LeBron decided to opt out of his contract with the Heat. Both James and Allen will be unrestricted free agents on July 1.

James and Allen spent last week vacationing together after the Heat lost the NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs, according to ESPN.com.

Allen will be 39-years-old on July 20, but still played in 79 regular season games for the Heat and all of the Heat’s playoff games. Allen averaged 9.3 points for the year.
