Hat Trick: British Race Walker's Proposal Makes 3 at Rio

The Rio Olympics have been one for the love birds, with a third athlete proposal coming Monday at the games.

Race walker Tom Bosworth got down on one knee at Copacabana Beach to propose to his boyfriend, according to his social media posts Monday. A Brazilian rugby player's girlfriend first put love in the air by proposing to her after a game last week, and a Chinese diver asking his girlfriend, another diver, to marry him on Sunday.

Bosworth's proposal was a success, by the way.

"Could this week get any better? He said yes by the way! #Olympics #MarryMe #Love" he wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of him proposing.

Bosworth is one of more than 40 LGBTQ athletes at the Olympics, and spoke to NBC Out last week about what it's like coming out. He said he was only ready to do it when he "was lucky enough" to have a supportive family, training team and partner.

"My team and I carefully planned it. I didn't want it to distract from my Athletics. It will never define me, but it's part of me, which I am very proud of," Bosworth said.

Bosworth finished sixth at the 20km race walk on Friday, with a time of 1:20:13 — a 9.3 mph pace.

Next up for Bosworth: race walking down the aisle.
