WATCH: Soldier Son Surprises Parents on Ice During NHL Face Off

A NHL face off turned into a family embrace thanks to a special reunion staged during last weekend's game between the Anaheim Ducks and the  Arizona Coyotes.

Eitan and Ronit Urman, who have been Coyotes season ticket holders since 1996, were asked to drop the puck at the start of the game during the league's last weekend of regular season play.

As they were about to do the ceremonial puck drop, their son Dan, a U.S. Army sergeant who had been stationed in Afghanistan, made a surprise appearance on the ice.

The father ran to hug his son and both men fell on the slippery surface. But that didn't stop them from embracing as the packed rink of hockey fans cheered boisterously.

The Ducks scored a 2-1 victory over the Coyotes, leaving them with a record of 51-24-7 as they head into the NHL playoffs.
