Wade, Roddick Set For Saturday H.O.R.S.E.

One gets calls, the other never thinks he does. This thing won't have officials, right?

The challenge he issued President Obama has so far been for naught, but Dwyane Wade will get one celebrity competition wish fulfilled this weekend when he takes on tennis superstar Andy Roddick in a friendly doubleheader of H.O.R.S.E. and tennis.

Here's to taking the obvious bet on who'll win each part of the challenge -- and here's hoping nothing happens to Wade's tender calf muscle because, you know, IMPENDING NBA PLAYOFFS.

[breathes into paper bag]

The superstars were supposed to throw down at last year's Sony Ericsson Open, but then a little matter of Roddick having to play a real match interfered and he was forced to cancel.

"I'm kind of mad," Roddick said at the time. "He's like my favorite athlete. So I'm just going to have to pull out -- of the tournament."

He was joking, of course, but there may be a little less jocularity on Saturday at 2 p.m. on Court B. The two are so bent on a duel that the challenge will happen the day between Roddick's opening round night match and second round court date, and just hours after Wade returns from a Friday night game against the Bucks -- in Milwaukee. Oh, and the Heat play again the next night as well.

If only the Gators took that anytime/anywhere sort of attitude, am I right?
