Damn Yankees

Yankees sink Marlins in front of thousands of transplanted Yankee fans

It was the second largest crowd this year for a Marlins game but it appeared to be mostly Yankee fans.

And the Bronx Bombers didn’t disappoint, beating the Marlins 5-1 in front of 35,027 people at Landshark Stadium Friday night, a huge bulk of them chanting “Let’s Go, Yankees!”.

Even A-Rod, who grew up in Miami, bought 100 tickets for his friends and family. But he ended up not playing for “fatigue” reasons.

Not that the Yankees needed him. Andy Pettitte pitched a three-hitter and even hit an RBI double, which is something he only gets to do during rare inter-league play.

Cody Ross’ homerun off Pettitte in the third inning made up the Marlins’ only run.
