Dallas' Romo Falls Apart on Back 9, Misses U.S. Open

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo fell apart in the back nine at the Dallas National Golf Club Monday, squashing his hopes of advancing to sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open.

There is a silver lining however.  By missing the U.S. Open, Romo will have no scheduling conflicts with the Cowboys' minicamp.

Romo, a scratch golfer, shot 44 on the back nine after shooting even par under rainy conditions earlier in the day.  He ended with an 80, or +8 for the course.

This was the second year in a row Romo failed to advance to the sectional qualifying round.

On Tuesday, Romo teed-off at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in an attempt to qualify for the HP Byron Nelson Championship.  The Byron Nelson is May 18-24 at TPC Four Seasons Resort in Las Colinas.
