Guus Hiddink Takes Chelsea Reigns Until the End of Season

Apologies up front, but the Guus is loose in West London. Chelsea confirmed Wednesday that Dutchman Guus Hiddink has signed on to coach the suddenly struggling Premier League club until the end of the season. He replaces Brasilian Phil Scolari, who was fired Monday after Chelsea dropped to fourth place in the Premier League table.

Hiddink, ever the multi-tasker, will retain his job as head coach of the Russian National Team, too. He did this sort of dual role once before, helming PSV Eindhoven jointly with Australia. Russia only has two World Cup qualifiers during the Premier League season.
