Sarah Palin Named Child After ESPN

Sarah Palin has a daughter. Her name is Bristol Palin. It's an odd name indeed (although her son is named "Trig" so, really, what's the use in examining "why?") but these are odd times we live in anyway.

But even casting the bizarre nature of the name aside, it's particularly interesting to find out exactly how Palin's daughter came to be named "Bristol."

In an issue of Esquire magazine that hits newsstands Feb. 16, Palin says that when she was in high school, she wanted to be a sportscaster and was disappointed to learn where ESPN was located.

The Alaska governor says Connecticut was too far away. So instead, she says, she named her daughter Bristol.
