You've got to hand it to MLS, at least the league is consistent. It's 14th season starts Thursday night on the same day most American eyes are glued to the opening day of the NCAA tournament. MLS then plays it's championship game on an NFL Sunday in November.

No matter, the league soldiers on and raises it's curtain with the debut of the expansion Seattle Sounders FC against last year's surprise runner-up New York Red Bulls live on ESPN2 (9 p.m.)
