Jones Homers To Give Marlins Comeback Win

The Marlins picked up a comeback win on Tuesday thanks to a three-run home run from Garrett Jones

The Miami Marlins came from behind and beat the Chicago Cubs 6-5 on Tuesday.

Garrett Jones hit a three-run home run with Miami trailing by one in the 7th inning. Jones' 9th blast of the season put the Marlins on top by two. They would go on to maintain that lead turning the home run into a game-winner.

Earlier in the game Rafael Furcal brought home two runs on a single. The veteran had a two-hit day and has been hot after a sluggish start to his Miami career.

Adeiny Hechavarria was placed in the two slot of the lineup and he made the decision look good. The shortstop was 4-5 with a run scored.

Anthony DeSclafani lasted 6.1 innings in his first start back in the big leagues. The young right-hander pitched decently whole allowing four runs. The fourth of those runs came home after being inherited by Sam Dyson.

DeSclafani struck out five and walked one and saw his E.R.A rise to 5.60. Dyson gave up a hit and walked one but did not allow anything more than the aforementioned inherited run. Dyson ended up credited with the win.

Steve Cishek worked the ninth inning and allowed a run but held on for his 16th save of the season.

The Marlins and Cubs will wrap up their series on Wednesday when Nathan Eovaldi makes the start.
