LeBron James Has Ideas For Incoming NBA Commissioner Adam Silver

Adam Silver is set to take over the NBA on Saturday and LeBron James has some ideas for him

The NBA is set to welcome new commissioner Adam Silver on Saturday and Miami Heat star LeBron James would like to help him out.

"Hopefully I can sit down with the commish and just throw out some ideas where I hope the league can be better," James said, according to a report by ESPN.

After 30 years of the sport running under the control of David Stern, Silver is going to have some big shoes to fill. Any kind of input from arguably the game's biggest player should be welcomed by Silver.

As for what ideas James may have, he's keeping them close to the vest and is electing to present them directly to Silver in private.

While James was mostly vague about his plans for a potential chat with Silver, he did make reference to expanding the game to those who can't watch it.  With the NBA set to work on a new TV deal in 2016, according to the New York Daily News, this could be a topic that piques the interest of Silver.

James has been taking part in the business side of the NBA in recent years, dating back to his appearances during the 2011 lockout at negotiating sessions. The MVP even briefly considered a run as president of the players' union but decided to not seek that title.

Whatever James has in mind, he is in Silver's corner and is hopeful that the new commissioner holds the title for as long as his predecessor. "Best of luck to him; hopefully he can get 30 years in, too," James said.

Silver has been deputy commissioner and chief operating officer of the NBA since July 2006 and was named as Stern's replacement on October 25, 2012. The NBA Board of Governors unanimously selected Silver as the new commissioner. according to his official bio on NBA.com.
