The Miami Marlins were on the wrong end of four double plays in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

There were plenty of chances for the Marlins but each rally came to a quick and sudden end on a double play ball. Casey McGehee and Jarrod Saltalamacchia grounded into two each. McGehee has grounded into 25 double plays on the season which leads the league. The third baseman's dubious mark is also a franchise record in a season.

Brad Hand went seven strong innings in which he allowed three runs on five hits. Hand walked two and struck out three while falling to 2-5 on the season. The left-hander pitched well enough to win but was doomed by a lack of offense from his team.

Bryan Morris and Sam Dyson combined for two scoreless innings of relief to keep Miami in the game. Their efforts would go to waste however when the Marlins were unable to bring come from behind.

All seven of the hits for the Marlins were singles with Giancarlo Stanton and Garrett Jones each knocking in a run. Stanton also walked twice as Arizona was careful with the slugger.

Miami ended up leaving seven men on base while going 2-7 with runners in scoring position.

The Marlins will send Henderson Alvarez to the mound on Saturday as the ace returns from the disabled list.
